Biography(references)Wagner describes his early years as something he survived. His father would continuously physically abuse him throughout his childhood; in one incident, his father beat his head in with a hammer leaving him unconscious. Wagner said "he thought he was going to die", and reported this incident to the police, and was then placed into foster care after his father was sent to prison. The foster family he subsequently moved in with owned a dairy farm in Wisconsin. Abe earned a football scholarship to Michigan Tech where he excelled at the position of linebacker and earned a mechanical engineering degree.
